In 2005, a family of five immigrated to the U.S. from Fiji, starting over with limited resources and big dreams. Through hard work and resilience, they overcame early struggles, with all three siblings thriving in their careers today.

Kunal’s dream of starting a business was sparked when his favorite coffee shop discontinued his go-to drink. Experimenting at home earned him praise from friends and family, inspiring him to team up with his sisters to launch Bear and Kono’s Coffee Shop, named after their beloved dogs. What began as a passion project grew into a family venture, blending their love for coffee with a shared commitment to building something meaningful together.

 At Bear and Kono’s, we aim to create a warm, welcoming space where people can unwind, connect, and be fully present. Inspired by our beloved rescue companions, Bear and Kono, we are passionate about giving back. A portion of our profits supports animal shelters, homeless shelters, and veterans’ organizations. Through these efforts, we strive to make a meaningful impact while fostering a sense of compassion and community for everyone who visits our shop.
